Issue 066 – October 2, 2021

A(nother) new direction

Hey there,

It’s Robin from CFD Engine & it’s October already – a month that includes my financial year-end & a good amount of reflection and “planning.”

But, instead of lamenting how last year got away from me, I’m going to sow the seeds of change & also ask for your feedback.

Let me explain…

Now

This quarter I want to up my content production game – but (as always) I want the content I create to be useful / entertaining, or at the very least, interesting.

I’ve got some ideas, but your feedback is the only thing I can rely on to make these emails better.

What would you like to see more of?

Hit reply & let me know your thoughts on what’s missing. My inbox is always open & it really helps me out 🙏

Next

This past year felt like a busy one, lots of projects, several new clients, but a quick glance at the financials tells me that busy ≠ lucrative.

Time for a change – a new direction & a new set of offerings.

A sneak peak: I’m looking to establish myself as the trail guide for people looking to switch to OpenFOAM.

You know where you need to be, but it’s unfamiliar country – I know the trails, where the bears live & how to get you there in one piece.

Hopefully it’s something that people will find useful 🤞 hit reply if you’re one of them.

I’m primarily looking at businesses switching from commercial CFD codes, but the response to last week’s email confirmed that there’s a strong contingent of “others” who are currently under-served. Micro-businesses, hobbyists & inventors, to name but three. I don’t have a plan to serve you (yet) but I see you & I’m working on it.

I’m excited about this change of direction, hopefully you’ll keep me company on the journey?

In the meantime, drop me a note with what you’d like to see in these emails (likewise if you need a hand avoiding the bears) 🐻

Until next week, stay safe,

Signed Robin K
