Issue 100 – June 11, 2022

100 Issues & 1000 thank yous

Hey there,

It’s Robin from CFD Engine & this is the 100th issue of OnCFD 🎉 a mini-milestone & the perfect opportunity to say thank you for letting me drop an email in your inbox every week 💛

By the numbers

Over the last 100 issues we’ve had one AMA email, one (ill-conceived) membership idea, 7 virtual meetups, 18 tiny tips, almost 400 email conversations & (in case you were wondering) there are 710 other CFD-people getting this email today 🙏

I’d like to grow that last number. I’m hoping that if I focus on making great resources for you folks then it will happen as a by-product, rather than having it as a goal.

That said, I need to do a better job of sharing my stuff with people who might find it useful/entertaining/interesting. I’m going to have a better stab at LinkedIn, so come say hi 👋 next time you’re over there.

Alternatively, if you know someone who might dig these emails, then please exaggerate how they’re missing out & insist they sign up 😉 Or just send ’em a WhatsApp pointing them to the website. However you do it, I’ll owe you one.

Speaking of the website, I’ve added a big, ugly search button to the newsletter archive – you can’t miss it.

It’s not full-text search & the fuzzy finder is a bit too fuzzy, but it’s quicker than trawling through the archive looking for “the one about bounding boxes” after you’d deleted the original email.

The next 100

Thank you for being a part of this, I’m grateful for anyone who reads anything I put out, you’re helping to make the next 100 much better.

In the meantime – if you want to talk about making better use of OpenFOAM, or you’d like some help figuring out your next CFD move, then hit reply & I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks again 🙏

Until next week, stay safe,

Signed Robin K
